Agnieszka Radwanska is through to yet another Tokyo quarter-final after beating Elina Svitolina in the second round of the Toray Pan Pacific Open.

The 2011 tournament winner, who has never failed to make the quarter-finals of this event in seven showings, advanced comfortably with a 6-4 6-1 win.

"I think the first set was very tight and it was only about a couple of points," Radwanska said on the WTA website.

"The second set was much better from my side and I was really staying focused and playing aggressive. I'm happy to play another great match here and be in another quarterfinal in Tokyo."

Radwanska, seeded seventh, will next face number four Karolina Pliskova, who advanced with a 6-2 6-4 win over Japanese number one Kurumi Nara.

On the other side of the draw, second seed Ana Ivanovic beat Camila Giorgi 7-5 6-2 to book a quarter-final against Dominika Cibulkova, who ended the hopes of sixth seed Carla Suarez Navarro 6-4 6-4.
