Tara Moore exits Wimbledon after three-set defeat to Svetlana Kuznetsova

British hope Tara Moore battled hard but could not quite summon the tenacity for a shock victory over 13th seed Svetlana Kuznetsova at Wimbledon.

World number 227 Moore dragged the former French Open and US Open champion to three sets, but ultimately Kuznetsova's experience and power shone through.

Kuznetsova eventually won out 6-1 2-6 6-3, despite Moore producing some smart tennis to claim the second set.

Wildcard entrant Moore was a straight-sets winner over Belgium's Alison Van Uytvanck in Wimbledon's first round, claiming her first main draw victory at the All England Club in style.

But that early triumph was to prove too much to be repeated, once Kuznetsova raised her level in the final set.

Kuznetsova will now meet either 18th seed Sloane Stephens or Luxembourg's Mandy Minella in the third round.
