Raonic, Thiem Lead QF Charge Thursday In Indian Wells; View Schedule

14 March 2019 02:20
Quarter-final action gets underway Thursday at the 2019 BNP Paribas Open with No. 13 seed Milos Raonic against Serbian lucky loser Miomir Kecmanovic. Raonic, the 2016 runner-up (l. to Djokovic), is making his fifth straight appearance in the Indian Wells quarter-finals. The 19-year-old Kecmanovic is through to an ATP Masters 1000 quarter-final for the first time. Raonic won their lone FedEx ATP Head2Head meeting in January at the Brisbane International. "He plays fast and flat off both sides," said the Canadian. "He tries to take time away from me. I remember a few times I was a little bit too passive, but there is a few things I feel I could do better. It's going to be important that I can sort of try to take away his rhythm and give him a few different looks." During Thursday's night session, seventh seed Dominic Thiem awaits the winner of No. 18 seed Gael Monfils and German Philipp Kohlschreiber. The 35-year-old Kohlschreiber upset World No. 1 Novak Djokovic on Tuesday afternoon.  [ALSO LIKE] ORDER OF PLAY - THURSDAY, MARCH 14, 2019 STADIUM 1 start 11:00 am WTA match Not Before 1:00 pm [13] Milos Raonic (CAN) vs [LL] Miomir Kecmanovic (SRB)  Not Before 5:00 pm WTA match Not Before 7:00 pm Philipp Kohlschreiber (GER) or [18] Gael Monfils (FRA) vs [7] Dominic Thiem (AUT)  STADIUM 2 start 12:00 noon WTA match Not Before 2:00 pm WTA match Not Before 6:00 pm Nikola Mektic (CRO) / Horacio Zeballos (ARG) vs [3] Oliver Marach (AUT) / Mate Pavic (CRO).readfullarticle
