Joao Sousa claimed his second career title at the Valencia Open, seeing off Roberto Bautista Agut in a three-set final.

Portugal's Sousa, the world number 46, won 3-6 6-3 6-4 to follow up his maiden success in Kuala Lumpur in 2013.

Agut, meanwhile, was the third homegrown runner-up in as many years, following fellow Spaniards Tommy Robredo and David Ferrer in falling at the final hurdle.

At seventh, he was the last remaining seed, but could not protect his serve after drawing first blood.

He was broken on four occasions by Sousa, who also won their only previous meeting in Croatia earlier this year.
