Top seed John Isner secured his place in the final of the BB&T Atlanta Open but needed three sets to overcome fellow American Denis Kudla.
Two-time defending champion Isner was an course for a surprise defeat to his unseeded opponent when Kudla took the first set, but the American number one fought back to claim a 4-6 6-2 7-5 victory in one hour, 43 minutes.
Isner now boasts an overall record of 19 wins in 22 matches in Atlanta and will be hoping to improve that record further still in the final.
