Magdalena Rybarikova surged into the quarter-finals of the Istanbul Cup with a double bagel defeat of Ipek Soylu.

Turk Soylu had been handed a wildcard for her home event and progressed to the second round after Anna Tatishvili retired hurt on Tuesday.

But that was as far as her run went as Slovak Rybarikova claimed a 6-0 6-0 victory in just 50 minutes.

Next up for the 26-year-old is Italy's Roberta Vinci who beat Russian qualifier Alexandra Panova 7-6 (7/3) 6-3.

Lesia Tsurenko advanced to the last eight with a 6-1 6-1 victory over Daniela Hantuchova while Urszula Radwanska beat Bojana Jovanovski 6-3 6-2.

In the remaining first round match, Mona Barthel set up a clash with Venus Williams' conqueror Kateryna Bondarenko thanks to a 6-3 7-5 win over Olga Savchuk.
