Rogers Cup washed out again

Date published : 23 Aug 2010 - 06:30:28

Rain forced organisers to postpone the semi-finals of the Rogers Cup in Montreal for the second consecutive day.

The last-four matches were due to be played on Saturday but have now been scheduled for 10am local time on Monday, with the final due to be played at 1.30pm.

Second seed Caroline Wozniacki had led Svetlana Kuznetsova 2-0 when their semi-final was postponed by heavy rain on Saturday.

Wimbledon finalist Vera Zvonareva is due to meet Belarus' Victoria Azarenka in the other semi-final.

With further rain forecast for Monday there is a possibility of the tournament stretching into Tuesday for the first time on the WTA Tour.

STill trying to find out if there is a possibility of any TV network or online coverage of Roger Cups Monday semis scheduled for 10am ET or final scheduled for 1:30 pm ET I'm recording some TV sports programs this morning to see if any of them will cover the subject. Unfortunately Tennis play second fiddle to other sports arizbill@gmail.com
