American tennis star Melanie Oudin, who was diagnosed last month with a heart condition, says she will undergo surgery for the problem on Thursday.
The 23-year-old Oudin said she was recently diagnosed with a type of arrhythmia or irregular heartbeat.
"Unfortunately, I have to have a heart procedure done tomorrow morning," Oudin wrote on Twitter.
"I'm a little nervous since this is my first surgery ever so if you guys could say a quick prayer for me that all goes well. I would really appreciate it. Thanks, love you guys!"
Oudin, who reached the quarter-finals of the 2009 US Open, hopes to be able to continue her tennis career in a few weeks.
