Naomi Broady fell to Pauline Parmentier in the second round of the Katowice Open in Poland.

The British number three is ranked 78th, 35 places higher than Parmentier, but it was the Frenchwoman who triumphed 6-4 7-5.

One break of serve proved enough in the first set, with Broady losing a long game at 2-2.

She fought back from an early break down in the second but Parmentier, who beat defending champion Anna Karolina Schmiedlova in the opening round, finished the stronger and won the final 10 points.
