Japan's Nao Hibino landed her first WTA title with an emphatic victory over Donna Vekic in the final of the Tashkent Open.

The 20-year-old won 6-2 6-2 in a one-sided title match, completing a tournament during which she did not drop a set.

Hibino has emerged from the lower-tier ITF tournaments recently, but this week is the first in which she has made a significant impact at WTA tour level.

Prize money of 43,000 US dollars (£28,300) is comfortably the biggest cheque of her fledgling career, with 19-year-old Vekic overwhelmed and unable to take a second career title.

Vekic, the unfortunate focus in August of a high-profile on-court spat between Nick Kyrgios and her boyfriend Stan Wawrinka, was making her second appearance in the Tashkent final.

She was runner-up in 2012, at the age of 16, and had to settle for the same outcome in her first tour final for almost 18 months.

Hibino will climb into the world's top 100 for the first time thanks to her success.

She said on the WTA website: " I'm so happy to win the first WTA title of my career here in Tashkent, and I really hope I can come back next year."
