American Madison Keys beat Barbora Strycova to win the Aegon Classic in Birmingham on Sunday.

The 21-year-old won 6-3 6-4 to clinch her first title in 2016 and maiden Aegon Classic ahead of the start of Wimbledon this month.

Keys, 21, reached the final with a 3-6 6-3 7-6 (7/3) victory over Carla Suarez Navarro and in doing so broke into the world's top 10 for the first time.

Strycova, 30, beat American Coco Vandeweghe 2-6 6-4 6-3 for her second final appearance in three years and again finishes runner-up.

Keys broke Strycova in her first service game to take control of the first set and she motored into a 5-3 lead before serving to win the set.

She only served at 57 per cent of first serves in the first set but Strycova struggled to deal with her return although the Czech came out fighting in the second set with 28 points played in the first two games.

The players held serve until Keys suddenly broke Strycova to love to move into a 5-4 lead and took the match with minimum fuss in Edgbaston.
