Home hope Ana Konjuh eases into Bol Open quarter-finals

Croatia's Ana Konjuh booked her spot in the quarter-finals of the Bol Open with a straight-sets victory over Ipek Soylu on Thursday.

The fifth-seeded home favourite took just 68 minutes to dispatch of Turkey's Soylu to win 6-2 6-1.

Konjuh will face wildcard and fellow Croat Tereza Mrdeza in the last eight following her 6-3 6-3 victory over Ysaline Bonaventure.

Elsewhere, Luxembourg's Mandy Minella came from behind to win her rain-delayed first-round match against Russian Evgeniya Rodina 3-6 6 -1 7-5.

Minella then faced number two seed Varvara Lepchenko, and despite dropping the second set, sealed her place in the quarter-finals with a 6-1 6-7 (4) 6-4 victory over her American oppnent in a match that lasted nearly two-and-a-half hours.

Number four seed Nao Hibino of Japan and Slovakian Polona Hercog, seeded seven, were also winners on day three. New Zealander Marina Erakovic, Stefanie Voegele of Switzerland and Slovakian Kristina Kucova also progressed.
