A superb performance from top seed Agnieszka Radwanska saw her end Petra Kvitova's 11-game winning streak and book a place in the final at the Connecticut Open.

Kvitova has been the queen of New Haven in recent years after winning the title in 2012, 2014 and 2015 but she had no answer to Radwanska, who won 6-1 6-1 with a fine display of attack and defence.

"I am so happy I played my best tennis today, everything went for me," she said. "I knew before the match that I had to push myself to win against her."

Kvitova came into the game after demolishing Eugenie Bouchard and Ekaterina Makarova in the previous two rounds, but she was let down by a host of unforced errors as she struggled to find her range on her usually blistering forehand.

Radwanska will be vying for her second WTA event of the year in Saturday's final, but she will have to get past Ukrainian 10th seed Elina Svitolina, who made light work of Swede Johanna Larsson in a 6-4 6-2 win.
