Wimbledon brunch briefing

Andy Murray is yet to drop a set in his opening four matches at Wimbledon and the Scot is certainly hungry for success.

After cruising past Nick Kyrgios on Monday, Murray was asked what he had eaten before and after the match and the world number two was more than happy to explain.

"This morning I had a bagel with scrambled eggs," Murray said.

"I had half a bagel with peanut butter. I had a smoothie, which had milk, bananas, berries in there. I had a whole melon for breakfast.

"Before my match, I had salmon with rice. And after the match I had pasta with broccoli and chicken."

And most importantly, was it a watermelon or a honey melon? "No, it wasn't a watermelon," Murray said. "Cantaloupe I think is what it was."

ON THE MENU TODAY

After a particularly Manic Monday, SW19 turns its attention to the women's event on Tuesday, with all four quarter-final matches due to take place. Both Williams sisters are in action, Serena on Centre Court against Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Venus facing Yaroslava Shvedova on Court One. Dominika Cibulkova takes on Elena Vesnina for a place in the semi-finals, while Simona Halep and Angelique Kerber also go head-to-head. Jiri Vesely saved five match points to take his all-Czech clash with Tomas Berdych to a decider on Monday night and the pair will resume on Court Three.

WHO'S TOAST TODAY?

It is hard to make a case for Pavlyuchenkova, who has lost every single one of her last five meetings against Serena Williams and has a head-to-head set record of 1-10 against the American. The only unknown is the surface, with the pair yet to meet on grass but Pavlyuchenkova has never before made it past the third round at Wimbledon. She looks in trouble.

HAVEN'T WE MET BEFORE?

Cibulkova and Vesnina have played each other six times and also met in the third round at Wimbledon in 2009. Vesnina edged the match 7-5 4-6 6-4 but the Russian has lost their two match-ups since, failing to take a set in either. The victor will stand one win away from their first grand slam singles final.

THE BEST OF BRITISH

Johanna Konta's early exit means there are no British women left in the singles event but there are some to be found in the doubles. On Court 17, Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares resume their nail-biting match at 13-13 in the fifth set against Croatian Mate Pavic and New Zealand's Michael Venus. In the second round of the mixed doubles, British duo Neal Skupski and Anna Smith take on Ivan Dodig and Sania Mirza on Court 18.

CENTRE COURT ORDER OF PLAY

Simona Halep v Angelique Kerber; Serena Williams v Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova; Radek Stepanek & Nenad Zimonjic v Bob Bryan & Mike Bryan.
