Andy Murray: The grand slam finals

Andy Murray reached his 11th grand slam final with a 6-3 6-3 6-3 victory over Tomas Berdych at Wimbledon.

Victory over Milos Raonic at the All England Club in the final on Sunday would give the Scot his second Wimbledon title and third overall.

2008 US OPEN (Lost 6-2 7-5 6-2 to Roger Federer)

A then 21-year-old Murray became the first Briton to reach a grand slam final since 1997, but Swiss master Federer cruised to a fifth successive US Open crown in straight sets.

2010 AUSTRALIAN OPEN (Lost 6-3 6-4 7-6 (13/11) to Federer)

Two years on from the Flushing Meadows defeat Murray met Federer again Down Under and the most decorated tennis player of all time celebrated his 16th slam.

2011 AUSTRALIAN OPEN (Lost 6-4 6-2 6-3 to Novak Djokovic)

Even with the top two seeds Federer and Rafael Nadal already eliminated, Murray's wait for a maiden grand slim title went on as he came unstuck against Djokovic in Australia.

2012 WIMBLEDON (Lost 4-6 7-5 6-3 6-4 to Federer)

The most heart-breaking loss yet for the Scot, who was in tears addressing the home crowd after Federer came from a set down to clinch a seventh SW19 success.

2012 US OPEN (Won 7-6 (12/10) 7-5 2-6 3-6 6-2 against Djokovic)

Murray ended his losing streak in grand slam finals at the fifth attempt, winning the first two sets and then holding off a fightback from Djokovic to win in five.

2013 AUSTRALIAN OPEN (Lost 6-7 (2/7) 7-6 (7/3) 6-3 6-2 to Djokovic)

Murray made a third straight final appearance at the major tournaments but had to make do with another runners-up trophy as, despite losing the first set, Djokovic again prevailed in Melbourne.

2013 WIMBLEDON (Won 6-4 7-5 6-4 against Djokovic)

The moment a nation had been waiting 77 years for arrived as Murray survived a titanic last game to defeat Djokovic again and succeed Fred Perry as a home men's singles champion at Wimbledon.

2015 AUSTRALIAN OPEN (Lost 7-6 (7/5) 6-7 (4/7) 6-3 6-0 to Djokovic)

For the first time in five years Murray failed to advance to a grand slam final in 2014 and there was a sense of deja vu when he returned to the big stage in Australia.

2016 AUSTRALIAN OPEN (Lost 6-1 7-5 7-6 (7/3) to Djokovic)

Once more Djokovic proved to be too strong for Murray at the Rod Laver Arena as the Scot became the first man to lose five Australian Open finals.

2016 FRENCH OPEN (Lost 3-6 6-1 6-2 6-4 to Djokovic)

Murray achieved something he never thought he would by reaching the final at Roland Garros but it was a familiar story as Djokovic pulled away after a strong start from the Scot to finally complete his set of slam trophies.
