Teimuraz Gabashvili was born May 23rd, 1985 in Tbilisi, Georgia. He began his career at the age of six and turned pro in 2001.
Gabashvili made his ATP debut in 2004 at the Bastad Swedish open, where he lost to Olivier Patience of France. At Wimbledon in the same year, Gabashvili faced Roger Federer in the first round, losing 3–6, 2–6, 4–6.
