Biography

On June 22, 2009 she reached her career-high singles ranking of World No. 23. She has won one doubles title, and two singles title.

At the 2009 Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships she upset World No. 2 Dinara Safina 6–4, 6–2 to progress to the third round. This was her first win over a current member of the world's top 5. She followed this up by defeating Daniela Hantuchova 6–2, 1–6, 6–2. In the quarterfinals, she defeated World No. 5 Vera Zvonareva 7–6, 7–5, achieving two wins over Top 5 opponents in three days. In the semifinals she defeated Estonia's Kaia Kanepi with a scoreline of 6–1, 6–2 now leading their head to head encounters 4–2 after having lost their two previous matches. However she lost to reigning Wimbledon champion Venus Williams 6–4, 6–2 in the final.
