Juan Carlos Ferrero is a former World No. 1 professional tennis player from Spain.

He made his professional debut in 1999 and reached the semifinals of his first tour event in Casablanca. He made his Grand Slam debut later that year at the US Open in August and then in the following month, in only his fifth professional event, he won his first career title in Majorca, Spain.

He captured the men's singles title at the 2003 French Open, and in September that year, he became the 21st player to hold the world no. 1 ranking. He was also the runner-up at the 2003 U.S. Open. In March 2009, Ferrero captured his first singles title since 2003 by defeating 5th-seeded Florent Serra 6-4, 7-5 in the final of the 2009 Grand Prix Hassan II in Casablanca, Morocco. In June of that year, he reached the semi-finals of the Queens Club Championship, and the quarter-finals of Wimbledon, losing to Andy Murray in both.
