Watson overcomes Mirza in Wrexham

Teenager Heather Watson clinched the Aegon GB Pro-Series event in Wrexham with a straight-sets win over India's Sania Mirza, 6-2 6-4.The 18-year-old fourth seed from Guernsey had beaten fellow Brit Lisa Whybourn in straight sets, 6-1 6-3, to reach the final. Mirza, who married Pakistan Test cricketer Shoaib Malik in April, had beaten Emma Laine 6-1 6-4. The Indian is the world 131, 121 places higher than Watson. After her semi-final win, Mirza teamed up with Laine, from Finland, to beat Britain's Tara Moore and Francesca Stephenson 2-6 6-3 13-11 in the doubles final.
