Nadal reaches US Open quarter-finals

Defending champion Rafael Nadal reached the US Open quarter-finals on Thursday with a 7-6 (7/1), 6-1, 6-2 victory over Gilles Muller of Luxembourg.

Second seeded Nadal faces either Andy Roddick or David Ferrer for a place in the semi-finals.
