Kubot/Melo Start 2018 Like They Played In 2017

Welcome to the 2018 ATP World Tour doubles season. It's starting a lot like the 2017 ATP World Tour doubles season. At least that's the case for the co-No. 1 doubles players in the ATP Doubles Rankings, Marcelo Melo of Brazil and Poland's Lukasz Kubot. The duo won their first title of the season on Friday, beating Germany's Jan-Lennard Struff and Viktor Troicki of Serbia 6-3, 6-4 at the Sydney International. Kubot/Melo saved both break points saved and won 77 per cent of their service points. [ALSO LIKE] “It was great. I think we played very good in the final, as we have been playing in the tournament. We, for sure, are very happy to start the year with a title here in Sydney,” Melo said. The team is now 9-4 in finals. Kubot improves to 21-14; Melo, 29-23. “We are pleased and happy that we had a couple of matches here in Sydney, because the weather is always tricky. Now we have time to change and go to Melbourne,” Kubot said. “We are ready for that. We have three matches behind.
