Wimbledon Brunch Briefing

The media had plenty of questions for Marcus Willis in the wake of his Centre Court clash with Roger Federer but one in particular caught him off guard.

Willis's girlfriend, Jennifer Bate, has been part of the world number 722's story, talking him into carrying on with tennis rather than take a coaching job in America.

She was on Centre to watch the Federer match and afterwards, Willis was asked if he had any plans to make her Mrs Willis.

"I haven't thought, to be honest. This whole few weeks has been a blur," he said, before adding with a smile: "Yeah, I do like her quite a bit."

Asked if reports she had been looking at pictures of wedding rings were premature, he said: " I think so. Got to keep her on her toes."

ON THE MENU TODAY

Andy Murray returns to action against Yen-Hsun Lu, while Jo Konta has a tasty-looking match-up with Eugenie Bouchard. British pair Heather Watson and Dan Evans will look to finish their rain-affected games from Wednesday, while Grigor Dimitrov and Gilles Simon also come back to effectively start their second-round clash.

WHO'S TOAST TODAY?

French Open champion Garbine Muguruza came through a tough opener with Camilla Giorgi and should be up to the job of seeing off qualifier Jana Cepelova. One-hundred-and-twenty-two places split them in the rankings and a quick victory should be on the cards.

HAVEN'T WE MET BEFORE?

Milos Raonic is highly thought of and is working with John McEnroe which has boosted his profile further. He has won his only previous meeting with Andreas Seppi and he should make it two from two.

THE BEST OF BRITISH

Away from Murray and Konta, Watson resumes against Annika Beck who injured herself on Wednesday, while Evans returns to court against Alexandr Dolgopolov. Jamie Murray will also hope to kick off his doubles campaign.

CENTRE COURT ORDER OF PLAY

Julien Benneteau v Kei Nishikori, Yen-Hsun Lu v Andy Murray and Eugenie Bouchard v Johanna Konta.
