Top seed Tomas Berdych eased into the semi-finals of the Shenzhen Open with a 6-3 6-2 victory over Jiri Vesely.

The world number five needed one hour and 35 minutes to see off his fellow Czech and sixth seed Vesely to book a last-four clash with Tommy Robredo.

Third seed Robredo recovered from losing the first set to beat Italian Simone Bolelli 1-6 6-2 6-4 in the first quarter-final of the day.

Robredo's fellow Spaniard Guillermo Garcia-Lopez secured his spot without hitting a ball after Frenchman Adrian Mannarino pulled out with a leg injury.

His next engagement is a final-four meeting with 2014 US Open winner Marin Cilic, who needed a little over an hour and half to dispatch Chung Hyeon of South Korea 7-6 (8/6) 6-4.
