Alexander Zverev will bid to become the youngest champion on the ATP Tour in eight years after reaching his first final in Nice.

The 19-year-old German defeated Joao Sousa 6-4 4-6 6-2 in the semi-finals of the Open de Nice Cote d'Azur.

Should he beat top seed Dominic Thiem in the final, he will be the youngest winner on the men's tour since Kei Nishikori at Delray Beach in 2008.

That will be a difficult task, though, given Thiem has been one of the form men of the season and he brushed aside Adrian Mannarino 6-1 6-3.

At the Geneva Open, the final will be between top seed Stan Wawrinka and former US Open champion Marin Cilic.

Wawrinka, who has won his last nine finals and is searching for his first title in Switzerland, beat Lukas Rosol 6-2 4-6 6-3 while Cilic saw off second seed David Ferrer 7-5 7-5.
