Britain's James Ward and Kyle Edmund have been awarded the two remaining wild cards for the upcoming Aegon Championships at the Queen's Club.

World number 106 Ward reached the semi-finals of the pre-Wimbledon tournament in 2011 while Edmund has recently climbed to 121st in the rankings after qualifying for the main draw of the Australian Open.

Ward, 28, and Edmund, 20, join the likes of British number one Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal, Stan Wawrinka and Marin Cilic at the tournament, which takes place between June 15-21.

The third wild card went to Australia's four-time winner Lleyton Hewitt, this year making his 16th and last appearance at Queen's ahead of his retirement from tennis.

Tournament director Stephen Farrow said: " James (Ward) made a huge impression on the crowds at the Aegon Championships with his run to the semi-finals in 2011, and Kyle is an exciting young British talent.

"The field of players this year is one of the strongest we have ever assembled.

"With so many highly-ranked players, one of our greatest champions in Lleyton Hewitt, young stars like Nick Kyrgios, and now two British wild cards, we can't wait for the tournament to begin."
