Novak Djokovic makes light work of Lu Yen-hsun at the French Open

Title favourite Novak Djokovic dropped just six games in making his way through to the second round of the French Open.

The world number one followed Andy Murray onto Court Philippe Chatrier but there was none of the drama of the Scot's five-set win over Radek Stepanek as Djokovic eased to a 6-4 6-1 6-1 victory against Lu Yen-hsun.

The first set was uncomfortable for Djokovic, who looked ill at ease and needed 40 minutes to clinch it.

But thereafter it was a cruise for the Serbian, who completed victory in an hour and 29 minutes with an impudent drop shot.

Djokovic is chasing the one grand slam title still to elude him, and success a week on Sunday would make him the first man since Rod Laver in 1969 to hold all four slam trophies at once.

Next up for the Serbian is a clash with Belgian qualifier Steve Darcis, who defeated Marsel Ilhan 6-3 6-4 6-0.
