Milos Raonic boosts ATP World Tour Finals hopes by winning St Petersburg Open

Milos Raonic has won the St Petersburg Open after a 6-3 3-6 6-3 victory over Portugal's Joao Sousa.

In doing so, the world number nine has significantly strengthened his chances of reaching the ATP World Tour Finals later this year.

The Canadian, 24, hit an impressive 22 aces to inspire his defeat of Sousa, who he has overcome on each of the three times they have faced each other.

Sunday's ATP Tour title was also his first since August 2014, when he won the Citi Open against compatriot Vasek Pospisil.
