Martin Klizan saved five match points to beat in-form Roberto Bautista Agut and reach the semi-finals of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam.

Bautista Agut, who has won more matches than any other player so far this season, looked poised for victory when he served for the match in the second set.

But five times Slovakia's Klizan saved match point before taking the set on a tie-break and racing through the decider to win 6-7 (5/7) 7-6 (8/6) 6-0.

In the last four he will meet French veteran Nicolas Mahut, who continued his excellent run with a 6-2 6-1 upset of eighth seed Viktor Troicki.

The other semi-final will be contested by Philipp Kohlschreiber and Gael Monfils.

World number 13 Cilic was the highest remaining seed in the tournament, after the withdrawal of Richard Gasquet, but lost 3-6 6-3 6-4 to Germany's Kohlschreiber.

Monfils, the world number 18 from France, defeated Germany's Alexander Zverev 7-6 (6/4) 6-3.
