Juan Monaco coasts through to set up Rafael Nadal clash in Argentina

Juan Monaco coasted to a 6-1 6-3 victory over Marco Cecchinati to set up an Argentina Open second-round clash with Rafael Nadal in Buenos Aires.

The 2007 champion needed just over an hour to set up a repeat of last year's final while cashing in on four of his five break points.

Fifth seed Dominc Thiem also progressed with a 6-0 3-6 6-3 win over Pablo Carreno Busta but the sixth-seeded Fabio Fognini crashed out following a 6-7 (7/4) 6-4 6-4 defeat to Federico Delbonis.

Thiem faces Portuguese qualifier Gaston Elias in the next round after he overcame Daniel Munoz de la Nava 4-6 6-4 6-1.

Paolo Lorenzi secured a 2-6 7-5 6-2 win over Pablo Andujar, while number eight seed PAblo Cuevas beat Albert Ramos-Vinolas 7-5 6-2.

Renzo Olivo edged Facundo Bagnis 7-6 (11/9) 7-5 and Serbia's Dusan Lajovic saw off Argentina's Facundo Arguello 7-6 (9/7) 6-3.
