Argentinian pair Juan Monaco and Diego Schwartzman were early winners in the Chengdu Open in China.

Monaco, who was beaten by Andy Murray at the Rio Olympics, dropped just three games in dispatching Hiroki Moriya 6-1 6-2 while Schwartzman edged out Rajeev Ram 6-4 7-5.

Italian Fabio Fognini advanced into the second round of the Shenzhen Open with a 6-4 6-1 victory over Dudi Sela while Mischa Zverev, whose brother Alex just won his first ATP Tour title in St Petersburg, gave the family more reason to celebrate with a 6-2 6-3 win against Zhe Li.

The remainder of the first-round action in both competitions kicks into action on Tuesday.
