Joao Sousa continued his hot streak as he beat Vasek Pospisil to seal a place in the final of the Valencia Open.

The 26-year-old Portuguese has been in the form of his life and will face Roberto Bautista Agut in Sunday's final as he looks for the second tour-level title of his career.

Not since the 2013 Malaysian Open has Sousa claimed a title but he will go into this one with plenty of momentum having seen off Pospisil 6-4 6-4.

Agut is the man waiting for him on Sunday after the Spaniard faced much more of a challenge in his own semi-final - saving six match points to beat American Steve Johnson.

The seventh seed came from behind to force a third-set tie-break and then recovered from three points down to reach the final with a 4-6 6-3 7-6 (10/8) success.

Having lost to Marin Cilic in the Kremlin Cup final last week, Agut is also in good form and the showpiece in Valencia promises to be a close-fought affair.
