Jamie Murray and his Brazilian partner Bruno Soares kept their winning grand slam run going with victory in the first round of the French Open.

The Australian Open champions are the fourth seeds in Paris and defeated Russian pair Evgeny Donskoy and Andrey Kuznetsov 6-3 6-3.

Murray spent a brief spell as world number one this spring, the first British player ever to officially stand at the top of the rankings.

The Scot currently sits third behind Marcelo Melo and Nicolas Mahut but it is very tight and a good run in Paris could see him regain top spot.
