Top-seed Feliciano Lopez reached the last four of the Swiss Open in Gstaad with a straight sets victory over quarter-final opponent Elias Ymer.
Lopez, who has unfinished business at the competition having finished runner-up to Richard Gasquet in 2006, defeated Ymer 6-4 7-6(2).
American Dustin Brown is his next opponent after he ousted 2013 champion Mikhail Youzhny 6-4 6-4.
Another former champion, 2007 victor Paul-Henri Mathieu, won his quarter-final with Albert-Ramos Vinolas 4-6 6-3 6-4 and takes on Robin Haase next.
The Dutchman beat qualifier Thiago Monteiro 7-6(2) 7-5.
Nikoloz Basilashvili ousted sixth-seed Dusan Lajovic to become the first Georgian to reach an ATP World Tour singles final at the Kitzbuhel Open.
Basilashvili, 24, defeated Lajovic 6-3 6-1 in a match lasting just an hour and four minutes.
His final opponent Paolo Lorenzi, seeded fourth but also in search of a maiden singles title at the age of 34, edged Gerald Melzer.
The Italian won on two tie-breakers, 7-6(4) 7-6(13).
At the Croatia Open in Umag, second seed and 2015 runner-up Joao Sousa fell at the quarter-final stage.
The Portuguese was beaten 6-3 4-6 6-2 by Slovakian Andrej Martin.
Third seed Jeremy Chardy also exited 6-4 6-2 at the hands of qualifier Carlos Berlocq.
That leaves Fabio Fognini as the highest remaining seed, at fourth, after he rallied from a shaky start to defeat Damir Dzumhur 4-6 6-1 6-1.
Gastao Elias was a 6-4 6-4 winner over Pablo Carrena Busta.
