British number four Dan Evans eased to victory over Germany's Benjamin Becker in the first round of the Citi Open in Washington.
Following a delayed start because of the threat of thunderstorms around the Rock Creek Park Tennis Centre, Evans cantered into the second round, breaking the 35-year-old four times on his way to a 6-2 6-1 triumph.
World number 82 Evans needed just 49 minutes for the victory and will now face the 12th-seeded Grigor Dimitrov in the second round after the Bulgarian was handed a first-round bye.
