Andy Murray a comprehensive favourite to beat Liam Broady

The Press Association Rating System has Andy Murray as the overwhelming favourite to defeat Liam Broady in their Wimbledon first-round game on Tuesday.

This will be a maiden meeting between the pair on any surface but everything points to a comfortable Murray victory, with the rating system putting him at 92 per cent to get the win.

Any other result - regardless of it being an all-British affair - would be a real shock.

Murray wins 78 per cent of the points on his first serve on his career in grass, while 2016 - at Queen's - has seen a two-point improvement on that. His second, though, is down to 48 per cent from 55.

Murray also wins 89 per cent of his service games on grass and goes at 27 per cent against the feed, while as would be expected, 22-year-old Broady's numbers are considerably down.

On grass he wins 72 per cent of his service games and breaks 17 per cent of the time, but a lot of his grass-court tennis has been on the Challenger Tour.

As such, Murray is the comprehensive favourite to make the second round with the minimum of fuss.
