Soderling into French Open last eight

Swedish fifth seed Robin Soderling beat French 18th seed Gilles Simon 6-2, 6-3, 7-6 (7/5) to reach the French Open quarter-finals on Monday.

Soderling will face top seed and defending champion Rafael Nadal for a place in the semi-finals.
