Top seed Annika Beck was beaten by Serbia's Bojana Jovanovski in the quarter-finals of the Tashkent Open on Thursday.

The German world number 43 looked on the way to a routine win when she took the opening set 6-2, but her opponent, 106 in the rankings, hit back to clinch a 2-6 7-5 6-3 win in two hours and six minutes.

Jovanovski was clinical in the decider, making the most of her only break chance and saving the two break points she faced.

Swedish fourth seed Johanna Larsson is out after going down 6-3 5-7 6-0 to Russian Evgeniya Rodina.

Other quarter-final winners were Japan's Nao Hibino and Croatia's Donna Vekic.

Hibino beat Ukrainian qualifier Kateryna Kozlova 6-3 6-3 to set up a last-four meeting with Jovanovski and Vekic came from a set down to see off Germany's Anna-Lena Friedsam 3-6 6-3 7-5.
