There was no fairytale ending for Mirjana Lucic-Baroni as Caroline Garcia triumphed in the Internationaux de Strasbourg final.
Lucic-Baroni was back in the final in Germany 19 years after first reaching it as a 15-year-old.
On that occasion she lost to Steffi Graf, and it was the same outcome this time as 10th seed Garcia earned her second WTA Tour title with a 6-4 6-1 triumph.
Qualifier Kiki Bertens was a 6-2 6-2 winner over Mariana Duque-Marino in the final of the Nurnburger Versicherungs Cup.
