Tim Henman: John McEnroe is no longer working with Milos Raonic

John McEnroe has already stopped his temporary coaching role with Canadian Milos Raonic, according to Tim Henman.

There was no immediate sign of McEnroe in the early stages of Raonic's second-round Wimbledon match against Andreas Seppi on Thursday.

McEnroe's first tournament with Raonic came at Queen's Club as the American watched his charge lose out to Andy Murray in a tight, three-set Aegon Championships final.

And the three-time Wimbledon champion was seen on the practice courts with the Canadian sixth seed over the weekend.

But McEnroe's busy schedule, with a host of TV duties, looks to have halted his hands-on coaching involvement with Raonic, although he remains on hand to offer advice.

"He's not actually working with Raonic anymore because he's got so many television commitments," said former British number one Henman.

"It was only up until Sunday. But he's still around, and anyone with McEnroe's experience and grass-court knowledge to give a little bit of an insight into some of the tactical stuff. he's not necessarily teaching Raonic how to hit new shots but how to piece it all together."

Henman, speaking on behalf of HSBC, said of Raonic: "He's a dangerous floater that's for sure. A serve like that works on any surface."

When announcing he was taking on a short-term role with Raonic, for the grass-court season, McEnroe said: "I just want to consult, be part of this team, add a little bit if I can on his quest on grass. I'm excited about the opportunity. Milos is a guy I think can win majors."
