Austin Krajicek and John Millman both recorded victories on the opening day of the Shenzhen Open.
American Krajicek lost the first set 7-5 but battled to win the next two sets 7-6 (8/6) 6-1 to beat James Duckworth.
And in the only other first-round match, Millman advanced to the second round after Ernests Gulbis retired hurt when 7-6 (9/7) 2-0 down.
