Nick Kyrgios secures BB&T Atlanta Open title with victory over John Isner

Nick Kyrgios overcame John Isner and the intense heat and humidity to win his second ATP World Tour title on Sunday at the BB&T Atlanta Open.

Kyrgios did not appear bothered by temperatures in the mid-90s as he dethroned the three-time defending champion 7-6 (7/3) 7-6 (7/4) in one hour and 47 minutes.

It might have been a different story had Isner been able to break Kyrgios in his opening service game but, facing three break points, the Australian reeled off five straight points to save the game.

Kyrgios clinched the opening set with an ace before a double fault in the second tie-break handed him victory.
