Adrian Mannarino withstood another ace onslaught from top seed Ivo Karlovic to reach the final of the Claro Open Colombia in Bogota.
Croatian veteran Karlovic added 17 more aces to the 27 he racked up in his quarter-final win over Radek Stepanek, but that was not enough to see him to victory on this occasion as Mannarino - who managed only two aces himself - ran out a 7-6 (7/5) 7-6 (7/5) winner.
That ended Karlovic's bid for a third successive final appearance in Bogota, having won the tournament in 2013 and finished runner-up to Bernard Tomic last year, and means third-seeded Frenchman Mannarino is now one win away from his maiden ATP Tour title.
