Jo-Wilfried Tsonga claimed his third Metz title as he turned the tables on Gilles Simon to win the Moselle Open in a rematch of the 2013 final.

Tsonga, who won here in 2011 and 2012 but lost to fellow Frenchman Simon in 2013, claimed his 12th ATP World Tour title by prevailing 7-6 (7/5) 1-6 6-2.

Tsonga was put under pressure early on, surviving three games that went to deuce on serve as he committed several unforced errors, but he rallied from 5-2 down to take the first set.

Simon dominated the second set but Tsonga took advantage in a couple of shots which rolled over the net to forge ahead in the decider on his way to victory.

The win sees Tsonga keep pace with Simon and St Petersburg winner Milos Raonic to sit in 15th place in the ATP Race to London.
