Second seed Milos Raonic eased into the final of the St Petersburg Open final after a straight sets victory over Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut.

The big-serving Canadian fired down 18 aces in a 6-2 7-6 (7/2) victory over the fourth seed in a match which lasted less than an hour and a half.

Raonic will face seventh seed Joao Sousa in the final on Sunday after the Portuguese overcame Dominic Thiem, seeded third, 6-4 7-6 (7/5).

Sousa had lost his previous three meetings with Thiem, including in the final of the Croatia Open in July, but finally broke his duck against the Austrian.

"It's good to be in another final," said Sousa on the ATP's official website. "That's what we work for, and for victories like this against a good player. I've played him three times before and lost all of them. So this was a good win for me and I'm really happy to be in another final.

"It definitely was a good match mentally and I'm really happy with that. I changed my tactics a bit against him. We learned a lot from my other matches against him. Today it was good."
