If you’re looking for a quirky present for a tennis fan – we might have found something you hadn’t yet thought of.

How about a print of a periodic table made up of every Wimbledon winner?

London-based artist Johnny Joannou has created two tennis-themed coloured wall charts – one of every male singles winner and one of every woman who has won – called “Legends of the Centre Court”.

The 37-year-old from Wood Green said: “I design neatly-structured art prints to depict sporting events, teams, film genres, books and sporting event.

“Inspired by traditional wall charts, I spend a great deal of time researching, categorising and arranging key metrics relating to each subject in a periodic-table.

“My Wimbledon prints shows details of every winner of either the Gentlemen’s or Ladies’ Wimbledon Singles Championship, and includes the initials of the losing finalist. Each cell is colour coded according to the Champion’s nationality.”

Wimbledon is not the only sporting event Johnny has taken on and he tries to use appropriate colours to reflect the topic’s history.

“My Tour de France print, for example, shows every winner of the Tour with distance covered and average speed, and uses colours based on a beautiful 1925 Parisian cycle manufacturer poster,” Johnny, who sells most of his work online, said.

Johnny added: “I am always looking for retailers to stock my geeky work. I hope to one day turn my geekiness into a proper business.”

Each print Johnny makes can be personalised with an additional cell with a surname and important year,

Legends of the Centre Court is £60.
